Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Mince Sauce:
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 4 minutes. Add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 6-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, and pepper. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavours to meld. Stir occasionally.
Combine the Spaghetti and Mince:
Once the mince sauce is ready, toss the cooked spaghetti into the sauce and stir until the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
Add the Mozzarella Cheese:
Preheat your oven’s broiler.
Transfer the spaghetti and mince mixture into an oven-safe baking dish or skillet. Sprinkle the grated Parmalat Mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
Place the dish under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, with a slightly golden top.
Serve:
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
Serve warm and enjoy the cheesy, flavourful goodness!
